Seaholm Maples Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-3 loss to Berkley on Wednesday. Berkley scored on a single by No. 10 in the first inning.

Seaholm Maples Varsity lost despite out-hitting Berkley seven to six.
Berkley fired up the offense in the first inning, when No. 10 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

No. 7 pitched Berkley to victory. He went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out two. #21 threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Jimmy Love took the loss for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out five.

Seaholm Maples Varsity racked up seven hits. Alex Maxwell and Max Schumaker all managed multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Schumaker and Maxwell each managed two hits to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No. 10 went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Berkley in hits. Berkley was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. #8 had the most chances in the field with six.

Seaholm Maples Varsity defeated Southfield Arts & Tech 13-3 on Monday thanks to nine runs in the sixth inning. Max Schumaker, Jimmy Love, Johnny Vecchio, Gray Kinnie, and Alex Oancea all drove in runs in the frame.

Seaholm Maples Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Schumaker singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied nine runs in the sixth inning. Schumaker, Love, Vecchio, Kinnie, and Oancea each had RBIs in the big inning.

Nick King pitched Seaholm Maples Varsity to victory. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out three. Mitchell Metikosh threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Metikosh recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No.1 took the loss for Southfield Arts & Tech. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and four runs while walking one.

Seaholm Maples Varsity put up nine runs in the first on its way to a 14-1 victory over University Detroit Prep on Wednesday. Max Schumaker, Alex Maxwell, Nick King, Scotty Clippert, Jack Morad, and Gray Kinnie all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Seaholm Maples Varsity got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

King got the win for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Liam Gough threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

No. 21 took the loss for University Detroit Prep. He allowed two hits and seven runs.

Kinnie went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity in hits. Seaholm Maples Varsity tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Lucas Simmons led the way with two.

No. 44 led University Detroit Prep with one hit in two at bats.

First Pitch Dinner is on Monday, March 18, at 6pm in the Seaholm cafeteria.

Pizza will be the main course. To complete the dinner menu, it would greatly appreciated if everyone could bring an item. By grade, please bring the following:

  • Freshman: bottled water (12 pack per player).
  • Sophomores: cut up veggies or salad to serve 6-12 people + serving utensils
  • Juniors: dessert items to serve 6-12 people + serving utensils
  • Seniors: cut up fruit to serve 6-12 people + serving utensils

Also, please bring a check payable to: Seaholm Baseball Boosters. The amount is $200 per player.
