Seaholm Maples Varsity wins contest against Rochester on Saturday, 6-3

Seaholm Maples Varsity scored three runs in the fourth inning. Seaholm Maples Varsity’s big inning was driven by singles by Paul Durocher and Johnny Vecchio and a groundout by Jimmy Love.

Love pitched Seaholm Maples Varsity to victory. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out four.

No. 2 took the loss for Rochester. He allowed eight hits and four runs over three innings, walking one.

Seaholm Maples Varsity racked up 13 hits on the day. Durocher, Vecchio, Liam Gough, Alex Maxwell, and Alex Oancea all managed multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Vecchio and Durocher each collected three hits to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No. 12 led Rochester with two hits in three at bats.

Seaholm Maples Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Bay City Western 2-1 on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Seaholm Maples Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Jimmy Love singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Nick King struck out eight, while Bay City Western pitchers sat down ten.

Bay City Western fired up the offense in the first inning.

Seaholm Maples Varsity knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning. Max Schumaker grounded out, scoring one run.

King pitched Seaholm Maples Varsity to victory. He allowed one hit and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.

No. 10 took the loss for Bay City Western. He surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out four. No. 2 started the game for Bay City Western. He allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking zero

Jack Morad, Gray Kinnie, Lucas Simmons, Love, and Alex Oancea each collected one hit to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No. 8 went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Bay City Western in hits.

Seaholm Maples Varsity captured the lead in the first inning.

Seaholm Maples Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Alex Oancea’s sac fly scored one run for Seaholm Maples Varsity, Paul Durocher doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and #14 threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

Seaholm Maples Varsity put up five runs in the fifth inning. Seaholm Maples Varsity’s big inning was driven by singles by Max Schumaker, Oancea, and Johnny Vecchio and a walk by Durocher.

Schumaker earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three. Sam Schumaker threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

No. 14 took the loss for North Farmington. He went three innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.

Seaholm Maples Varsity totaled 13 hits. Vecchio, Schumaker, and Alex Maxwell each collected multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Seaholm Maples Varsity defeated North Farmington 11-1 on Wednesday thanks to eight runs in the first inning. Alex Oancea, Alex Maxwell, Liam Gough, Lucas Simmons, and Gray Kinnie each drove in runs during the inning.
