The Maples Varsity defeated Summit Eastside 11-1 on Tuesday thanks to a timely eight runs in a big third inning. Zach Ziegler, Gray Kinnie, Alex Oancea, Nick Contis, and Lucas Simmons each drove in runs during the inning. Jack Sheldon got the win for Maples. He went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out eight and walking one. The Maples Varsity totaled 12 hits. Oancea, Kinnie, Ziegler, Simmons, and Contis all managed multiple hits for the Maples.

Game 1

The Maples struggled to get their offense going on Monday, getting dispatched by West Bloomfield, 11-1. Justin Miller took the loss for the Maples.. He allowed ten hits and 11 runs over four innings, striking out four. Zach Ziegler led the Maples with two hits in two at bats.

Game 2

The Maples got on the board in the first inning when Zach Ziegler singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. W Bloomfield pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. Max Schumaker took the loss for the Maples. He went five and a third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out five.
The Maples tallied seven hits in the game. Ziegler and Schumaker collected multiple hits.

The Maples couldn’t keep up with Detroit Country Day and fell 12-3 on Thursday. In the 1st Detroit Country Day got their offense started. Campbell hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Maples tied things up 2-2 when Lucas Simmons drew a walk, scoring a run. Detroit Country Day pulled away for good with 2 runs in the 3rd inning.

Dolney was the winning pitcher for Detroit Country Day. He allowed 3 hits and 3 runs over 3 innings, striking out 3. Campbell threw 4 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Scotty Clippert took the loss for the Maples. He surrendered 9 runs on 7 hits over 5.1 innings, striking out 3. The Maples had 6 hits in the game. Zach Ziegler and Max Schumaker collected multiple hits.

The Maples [6-4 (3-1 OAA-White)] snagged a late lead and defeated NFHU 11-5 on Wednesday. The game was tied at 5 with the Maples batting in the top of the 6th when Lucas Simmons doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. The Maples earned the victory despite allowing NFHU to score 4 runs in the 2nd. The Maples put up 4 runs in the 7th. The rally was led by singles by Simmons and Gray Kinnie and a double by Alex Maxwell.

Scott Simon was the winning pitcher for the Maples. He went 6 innings, allowing 7 hits and 5 unearned runs while striking out five. Nick King threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
