Game 1 – Sam Of Seaholm Maples Varsity Shuts Out Avondale

Sam Schumaker shut down Avondale, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Seaholm Maples Varsity to a 11-0 victory on Wednesday

In the first inning, Seaholm Maples Varsity got their offense started. Colton Kinnie drove in one when Kinnie singled.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied four runs in the third inning. Grant Welch, Nicholas Jen, Kyle Haugk, and Granden Kinnie powered the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Avondale was a double by #3 in the first inning.

Game 2 – Varsity Claims Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Avondale

Seaholm Maples Varsity stole the lead late in the game in a 12-11 victory over Avondale on Wednesday. The game was tied at 11 with Seaholm Maples Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Sam Schumaker singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity collected 12 hits and Avondale had 14 in the high-scoring affair. Avondale fired up the offense in the first inning, when #3 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Avondale tied things up at 11. An error scored two runs for Avondale.

Seaholm Maples Varsity easily did away with Southfield 11-1 on Monday
Southfield got on the board in the first inning when #22 grounded out, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity notched five runs in the fifth inning. Colton Kinnie, Ben Slazinski, Sam Schumaker, and Jack Hulgrave each had RBIs in the frame.

Seaholm JV Gold opened up scoring in the second inning, when Kyle Robbins doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

A single by Jay Dennard in the second inning was a positive for Southfield JV.

Jimmy Love threw a perfect game on Monday to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity past Groves 5-0.

Love was the winning pitcher for Seaholm Maples Varsity. The righty lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 14 and walking zero. The game ended dramatically by a bunt attempt by Groves where it was fielded by Love for the last out to preserve the perfect game.

Groves #14 took the loss for Groves. Groves surrendered five runs on five hits over three innings, striking out three.

Sam Schumaker led Seaholm Maples Varsity with three hits in four at bats. Seaholm Maples Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Nicholas Jen had the most chances in the field with 15.

Seaholm JV Gold snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-1 victory over Groves on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Seaholm JV Gold batting in the top of the ninth when Bradley Babitch singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Seaholm JV Gold knotted the game up at one in the top of the seventh inning, when Kyle Robbins doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Kyle Haugk was credited with the victory for Seaholm JV Gold . The righty allowed six hits and one run over eight innings, striking out four. Nick Shenefelt threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Seaholm Maples Varsity defeated Ferndale 15-3 on Friday thanks to eight runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Ben Bierman, Ben Slazinski, Jack Hulgrave, and Jim Love, a groundout by #66, and a double by Grant Welch.

Ferndale opened up scoring in the first inning, when #20 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Ferndale’s #10’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Seaholm Maples Varsity.
