AS YOU KNOW, WE ARE ENJOYING UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER, RIGHT NOW. AS A RESULT, WE WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE GOOD WEATHER WHILE WE CAN.

THUS, PLEASE BE ADVISED, THE MONDAY, MARCH 9 TRYOUT, WILL BE HELD AT THE SEAHOLM BASEBALL FIELD. THE START TIME FOR THIS TRYOUT DAY IS 3:30PM. THE TRYOUT WILL END AT APPROX 5:30-5:45PM.

WEAR SPIKES, BASEBALL PANTS, A HAT AND BRING WARM CLOTHING. ALSO, BRING WATER AND A SNACK.

BOTH THE TUESDAY, MARCH 10 TRYOUT, AND THE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11 TRYOUT, WILL BE HELD AT 2SP (MADISON HEIGHTS) AS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED. THE SCHEDULED TIME IS 4:00-5:30PM FOR THESE TWO DAYS.

Seaholm Maples Varsity built a four-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Groves’s charge for a 7-6 victory on Saturday. Groves scored three runs in the failed comeback. #31 and #8 each picked up RBIs.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Seaholm Maples Varsity collected 13 hits and Groves had ten.

Groves took an early lead in the first inning when No. 10 doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Seaholm Maples Varsity knotted the game up at three in the top of the second inning. Seaholm Maples Varsity scored one run when Gray Kinnie doubled.

Seaholm Maples Varsity took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Johnny Vecchio doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity put up three runs in the sixth inning. Seaholm Maples Varsity’s big inning was driven by a single by Kinnie and a double by Mitchell Metikosh.

Max Schumaker took the win for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He went three innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking one. Metikosh and Nick King entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. King recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No. 18 took the loss for Groves. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on 12 hits, striking out six and walking one.

Seaholm Maples Varsity collected 13 hits on the day. Kinnie, Lucas Simmons, Jimmy Love, and Paul Durocher each had multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Simmons and Kinnie each managed three hits to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

Groves tallied ten hits. #41, #10, and #31 all managed multiple hits for Groves.

Seaholm Maples Varsity defeated Royal Oak 5-4 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with Seaholm Maples Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Paul Durocher singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

Nick King was the winning pitcher for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one. Mitchell Metikosh threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Metikosh recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Seaholm Maples Varsity.

No. 26 took the loss for Royal Oak. He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one.

Seaholm Maples Varsity racked up ten hits in the game. Liam Gough and Lucas Simmons each racked up multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Simmons and Gough all had two hits to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

Royal Oak racked up 11 hits on the day. #26, #19, #14, and #21 all managed multiple hits for Royal Oak.

Jimmy Love took the loss for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He went two innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound on Tuesday, but Catholic Central was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Seaholm Maples Varsity on Tuesday. Nick King started the game for Seaholm Maples Varsity and recorded 18 outs.

One bright spot for Seaholm Maples Varsity was a single by Alex Maxwell in the fourth inning.

No. 1 was the winning pitcher for Catholic Central. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking one. No. 15 and #No. 27 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

King took the loss for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Paul Durocher and Maxwell all had one hit to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

Catholic Central didn’t commit a single error in the field. #25 had the most chances in the field with ten.
