Seaholm Varsity wins a dramatic double header with Avondale.

Game 1 – Sam Of Seaholm Maples Varsity Shuts Out Avondale

Sam Schumaker shut down Avondale, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Seaholm Maples Varsity to a 11-0 victory on Wednesday

In the first inning, Seaholm Maples Varsity got their offense started. Colton Kinnie drove in one when Kinnie singled.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied four runs in the third inning. Grant Welch, Nicholas Jen, Kyle Haugk, and Granden Kinnie powered the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Avondale was a double by #3 in the first inning.

Schumaker earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Seaholm Maples Varsity. The righthander went six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Avondale’s #14 took the loss for Avondale. undefined allowed four hits and six runs over two innings, walking one.

Game 2 – Varsity Claims Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Avondale

Seaholm Maples Varsity stole the lead late in the game in a 12-11 victory over Avondale on Wednesday. The game was tied at 11 with Seaholm Maples Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Sam Schumaker singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity collected 12 hits and Avondale had 14 in the high-scoring affair. Avondale fired up the offense in the first inning, when #3 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Avondale tied things up at 11. An error scored two runs for Avondale.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied eight runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Jack Hulgrave, Michael Tang, and Ben Slazinski, a walk by Schumaker, and a double by Colton Kinnie.

Avondale scored four runs in the fourth inning. Avondale’s big inning was driven by singles by #0 and #20 and a double by #3.

Grant Wanecek pitched Seaholm Maples Varsity to victory. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out four and walking one. Kyle Haugk and Drew Bell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied 12 hits in the game. Slazinski, Kinnie, Schumaker, and Hulgrave each managed multiple hits for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Slazinski led Seaholm Maples Varsity with three hits in five at bats.

Avondale collected 14 hits on the day. #3, #30, and #0 all collected multiple hits for Avondale. #3 went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Avondale in hits.
