Seaholm Maples Varsity Defeats Cranbrook In High-Scoring Game, 11-8

Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Thursday in a high-scoring affair where Seaholm Maples Varsity bested Cranbrook, 11-8.

In the first inning, Seaholm Maples Varsity got their offense started when Alex Oancea singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Seaholm Maples Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Oancea singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Scotty Clippert singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Jack Morad grounded out, scoring one run.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Michael Chiara and Max Schumaker each had RBIs in the frame.
Cranbrook scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning for Cranbrook came thanks to groundouts by #2 and #6.

Jack Sheldon got the win for Seaholm Maples Varsity. He surrendered five runs on one hit over four innings, striking out two. Johnny Vecchio and Morad entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Morad recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Seaholm Maples Varsity.
