Two Pitchers Work Together As Seaholm Maples Varsity Defeats Cranbrook In Shut-Out

Seaholm Maples Varsity defeated Cranbrook 9-0 on Tuesday, April 06 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Grant Welch struck out #15 to finish off the game.

Seaholm Maples Varsity got things moving in the second inning, when Colton Kinnie homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Seaholm Maples Varsity tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Grant Wanecek, Jim Love, and Drew Bell all drove in runs in the frame.

One bright spot for Cranbrook was a single by #4 in the fourth inning.

Wanecek was credited with the victory for Seaholm Maples Varsity. Wanecek went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out six and walking zero. Welch threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Cranbrook’ #3 took the loss for Cranbrook. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one.
