The Maples surrendered single run in the bottom of the first inning and despite several opportunities, could not get the tying or go ahead tally across the plate and lost to neighbor and rival Brother Rice 1-0 in a District semifinal game at Groves HS on Saturday. The pitching was strong on both sides.
Nick King took the loss for Maples. He surrendered one run on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out one. Scott Simon, Max Schumaker, and King each collected one hit to lead Seaholm Maples Varsity.

The Maples hope the momentum of winning their last 3 regular season games carries into their District semifinal game against the Brother Rice Warriors on Saturday, June 2nd at Crosby Field at Groves High School. Game time is approximately noon and MHSAA mandated admission price is $5 per person. Come on out and cheer on your Maples!
