Good evening,

A few important things:

Monday, April 3, we will have our ‘Maintenance Day’ at 6pm on the field. Pls bring a step ladder, if possible. Parents and players are needed.

Tuesday, April 4, we will finish passing out uniforms for the Varsity players. We will meet in the NW corner of the gym at 6:30pm. Specifically, pullovers and pants will be distributed.

First Pitch Dinner and Other Updates

IMPORTANT SEAHOLM BASEBALL UPDATES:

1. Please be reminded of the Monday, March 20, FIRST PITCH DINNER, The dinner begins at 6pm in the Seaholm cafeteria. All players and parents should attend. Coach Toth will share his thoughts on the upcoming season and several other program details will be discussed Pizza will be provided by the Boosters. Other side dishes such as drinks, salads, fruits and deserts, on a pot luck basis, shall be provided by the players/parents:

  • Frosh families: water, gatorade
  • Sophomore families: salad, veggies
  • Junior families: assorted fruit
  • Senior families: cookies, desserts

2. The Booster Registration fee of $225 is due by Monday, March 20. Payable by check to Seaholm Baseball Boosters or via Venmo (@SeaholmBaseball-Boosters).

3. Also, the Seaholm Baseball store is now open. Here is the link: https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/bPWHhTrtWV
The store will close on Tuesday, March 21, at midnight. Lead times for the items are approximately 3-4 weeks (but, please understand, some items randomly, may take longer).

4. Uniform distribution evening on Thursday, March 23, at the Seaholm gym (NW corner of gym); Begins at 6:30 and concludes at 7:30pm. All players should be prompt.

5. The Maintenance Day activity will be a weather dependent/date decision. We will discuss more at the FIRST PITCH DINNER.

Update on Tryouts

Good evening,

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

Due to the inclement weather, we will hold our tryouts at 2SP (Madison Heights).

As of now, here is the tryout schedule:

  1. Monday, 3/13: Be at 2SP no later than 3:45pm, dressed and ready to go. Tryouts begin at 4pm sharp and conclude at 5:30pm.
  2. Tuesday, 3/14: Same as Monday
  3. Wednesday, 3/15: Same as Monday and Tuesday.
  4. Thursday, 3/16: TBD

For tryouts, bring your helmet, bat, glove. Wear baseball pants and a hat. Bring water.

Please do not bring food into the 2SP facility.

Also, for pitchers…..you will be asked to pitch at tryouts at 100% effort/velocity. If you have a scheduled bullpen this week, plan accordingly.

Below is important information as discussed at last evening’s player/parent meeting:

  • Tryouts will begin on Monday, March 13, at the Seaholm Field at 3:30pm; weather dependent. If the weather/field are determined to be bad, we will hold the tryouts at 2SP Madison Heights.
  • The $180 Play to Participate fee must be paid prior to Tryouts. Go to the Seaholm Athletic Department for registration/payment or see below link. Also, please note, a physical is required for those players where a physical has not been performed/submitted in the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Maintenance Day at the Seaholm Field will be held on a weekend, prior to April 1st, weather dependent. Volunteers needed! A special emphasis on the batting cage. The wind, ice and snow have brought parts of the cage to the ground. Pls contact me if you are interested to assist.
  • Uniform distribution evening on Thursday, March 23, at the Seaholm gym; Begins at 6:30 and concludes at 7:30pm. Volunteers needed. Please contact me if you are interested to assist.
  • New maroon Rawlings baseball helmets available now, on a limited supply, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cost is $40. Payable by check to Seaholm Baseball Boosters or via Venmo (@SeaholmBaseball-Boosters). So far, DeVos, Rouland, Davis, Van De Mark, Werner, Hughes, Alkarawi, Goetz, and Sullivan have placed orders.
  • Birmingham Little League Evaluation player volunteers still needed; Sunday, March 5 and Sunday, March 12 are the dates; 3:30pm-4:30pm is the open time slot for each date.

TO THE 2SP WINTER TRAINING SUNDAY ATTENDEES: WE HAVE THREE (3) REMAINING SESSIONS…..FEB 26, MARCH 5, MARCH 12.

ALSO:

Annually, Seaholm baseball players volunteer to assist the Birmingham Little League (BLL) in their ‘evaluation sessions’ at Derby. We are looking for volunteers to sign up the two separate dates: Sunday, March 5 and Sunday, March 12…. three players per time slot are session are required. Importantly, players whom assist with the BLL evaluations will earn "Community Hours” through Coach O. Date/time slots will be granted on a first come-first serve basis. Respond directly to me via email to sign up; include the date and time slot in your response. Players are welcome to sign up for multiple time slots.

Sunday, March 5th….three volunteers required in each of the four sessions:
1. A Minors 11:00a-12:30p
2. AAA Association 12:30p-2:00p
3. Majors 2:00p-3:30p
4. Juniors 3:30p-4:30p
